Villarreal, Spain's esteemed football club, has made a significant announcement regarding the establishment of its first official academy in Algeria. This initiative aims to discover and cultivate young football talents as part of the club's global project to enhance the sport.
According to information shared on the club's official website, the "Villarreal Algeria" academy is set to be the first of its kind in the country, with operations planned in the capital city of Algiers and Oran. The academy will feature two training centers in Algiers: one located at the University of Algiers 3 in Dali Ibrahim and the other in El-Harrach. The main headquarters of the academy will be established in Oran, specifically at the Mediterranean Village.
Villarreal has also announced that registration is currently open for those interested in joining the academy. Selection trials are scheduled to commence on August 15, leading up to the official opening set for September 1.
The academy will offer players a training program based on the methodologies used within Villarreal's own training system, supervised by Spanish coaches. Additionally, there will be tailored training programs suitable for various age groups, alongside opportunities for participants to engage in official tournaments and training sessions organized by the Spanish club.
The academy will be managed by Mohamed Salmi, who emphasized that this project represents a historic milestone for Algerian football. He highlighted that it will provide young players with professional training that adheres to international standards, leveraging Villarreal's extensive expertise and sporting values.
