Celebrating the Launch of the Canadian Association of Moroccan Professors and Researchers

Welcome to CAMPR: A New Era for Moroccan Academia in Canada

Dear Esteemed Professors, Researchers, and Fellow Moroccans,

It is with immense pride that I announce the establishment of the Canadian Association of Moroccan Professors and Researchers (CAMPR) / Association canadienne des professeurs et chercheurs marocains (ACPCM). This initiative stands as a remarkable testament to the excellence, dynamism, and patriotism embodied by the Moroccan scientific community residing in Canada.

Under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God bless him, Morocco has recently attained an unprecedented level of international prominence. With a foundation built on political stability and a rich, millennia-old identity and culture, our country has emerged as an essential strategic player on the world stage. Whether through its diplomatic initiatives across Africa, its pioneering efforts in developing innovative energy solutions, or its state-of-the-art industrial infrastructure, Morocco has truly established itself as a catalyst for progress and a global hub for innovation.

Uniting Knowledge Across Borders

In this ambitious national momentum, the Moroccan academic diaspora represents a formidable force extending beyond our borders. By launching CAMPR under the auspices of the 50th anniversary of the historic Green March, celebrated in November 2025, you have firmly anchored this founding initiative within the legacy of our nation’s significant achievements. The year 1975 symbolized the unity and integrity of our territorial sovereignty, while your association now embarks on a new journey: the march of knowledge and intellect. Through your academic accomplishments and contributions, you are - and will remain - ambassadors of Moroccan excellence on the global stage.

By pooling your talents, expertise, and strengths, you are fostering connections of knowledge between Canada, a bastion of academic rigor, and Morocco, the land of your roots and aspirations. Your dedication to creating networking opportunities, enhancing mentorship, and promoting high-level scientific collaborations represents a vital contribution to the diplomacy of knowledge, reinforcing our country's role and influence. You exemplify, in the most inspiring manner, that distance does not diminish one's devotion, sense of belonging, or commitment to the Motherland.

I extend my warmest congratulations to the Founding President, Professor Hassan Safouhi, and to all esteemed members of the Association for this commendable initiative. I urge all members of our scientific community in Canada to engage with this movement of excellence.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Canada is steadfast in its support of your endeavors to promote our community and our nation, bolster your noble ambitions, and contribute to building a future without borders.

Long live Morocco. Long live Canada. And may CAMPR achieve every success.

Souriya OTMANI
Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to Canada
