Left Alliance Prepares for Upcoming Elections
The "Left Alliance," consisting of the Democratic Left Federation and the Unified Socialist Party, announced an extensive list of candidates for the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026, during a rally held in Casablanca on Saturday. In front of a large crowd of supporters, the alliance shared its aspirations for this electoral milestone, which it views as a crucial opportunity to enhance its representation in the House of Representatives, thereby allowing its voice to resonate effectively within the legislative chamber.
The candidate list reflects a diverse range of professional backgrounds and age groups, showcasing a significant representation of women and youth. The nominations include party leaders, political figures, union representatives, human rights advocates, and academics, alongside various skilled professionals and young talents.
Diverse Candidate Representation Across Regions
In the Casablanca-Settat region, the alliance has positioned prominent leader Nabila Munib to head its list in the Anfa district, with Ahmed Oushayb in Hay Hassani, Adel Al-Shahadi in Ain Chock, Abdul Hakim Murshid in Ben M'sik, and Abdul Latif Matoukel in Moulay Rachid. Additional nominations feature Youssef Al-Shaoui in the Al-Fida-Mers Sultan district, Fatima Al-Tamani in Ain Seba-Hay Mohammadi, and Hussein Al-Yamani in Mohammedia, among others across Berrechid, Settat, and various provinces within the region.
In the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, the alliance has endorsed human rights activist and media figure Mohammed Al-Aouni as the candidate for the Rabat Shala district, alongside Wafa Al-Shata'in in Salé New, Amir Al-Namish in Kenitra, Idris Hamad in Salé City, and Nour Al-Din Al-Zaymi in Sidi Qasim. The alliance also nominated Khalid Rahil in the Skhirat-Témara district, Hamza Bouhalid in Tiflet-Romani, and Abdul Al-Munsif Haneen in Khemisset-Oulmes, while entrusting the leadership of the regional list to architect Souad Farikch.
In the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, the candidate map includes Omar Ibn Ajiiba in Tangier-Assilah, Idris Aftis in Tetouan, Yahya Al-Bayari in Mdiq-Fnideq, Mustafa Sharwan in Ouezzane, Osama Ben Masoud in Larache, and Abdullah Al-Jout in Chefchaouen. The Souss-Massa region sees the nomination of Mohammed Oublouch in Agadir Ida Ou Tanane, Issam Al-Hamoumi in Inzegane-Ait Melloul, and Moulay Hicham Ashraf in Taroudant South, while Dr. Sana Fawzi Al-Musaidi leads the regional list.
In the Fez-Meknes region, the nominations include Osman Zouirash in Fez North, Abdul Hadi Al-Hilali in Fez South, Abdul Wahab Al-Buqali in Meknes, Mohammed Al-Hachimi in Taounate-Tissa, and Said Al-Tahiri in Taza, along with names such as Zaeem Al-Haj in Al-Hajeb and Fatima Zahra Al-Jamahiri in Ifran, and Abdul Qadir Kammou in Boulemane.
In the eastern region, the nominated candidates include Abdullah Bintafrit, Hakim Shamall in Nador, Abdul Rahman Al-Rami in Taourirt, Mohammed Talha in Figuig, Mohammed Koukhouk in Jerada, and Mustafa Adnain in Jerada, with Jamila Halwan leading the regional list.
The alliance's nominations in the Marrakesh-Safi region feature names such as Rashid Dreezi in the Sidi Youssef Ben Ali district, along with candidates from the Youssoufiya, Qalaat Al-Sraghna, Chichaoua, and Rahamna districts.
