Moulay Marrakech Football Club Issues Official Apology for Withdrawal from Regional League
The Moulay Marrakech Football Club has formally announced its apology for withdrawing from the Marrakech-Safi regional league championship. This decision stems from ongoing challenges that the club has faced throughout the second half of the previous season, which ultimately led to its relegation to lower divisions.
Club president Mohamed Boudehira shared this news through his Facebook page on Thursday, July 30, 2026, a decision that is likely to shock the club's passionate fans and those closely following the sports scene in Marrakech. In a subsequent phone interview, Boudehira assured that this decision is final, emphasizing that it was motivated by a systematic campaign against the team that began during the tenth match of last season's league, when the team was in the first position and competing for promotion to higher divisions.

He stated that despite filing complaints to mitigate behaviors that tarnish the sporting landscape, the situation worsened, particularly with the refereeing decisions against teams from the city of Safi. Furthermore, he highlighted the lack of support from local authorities, who failed to fulfill their promises of financial and moral assistance, leaving the club to face uncertainty alone. He also pointed out issues related to the playing surface of the August 20th stadium, which is deemed unsuitable for football.
Boudehira confirmed that he would officially submit this decision to the relevant authorities, holding them accountable for the current situation and issuing a general apology that could erase a historically significant team from the national football map.
