Interestingly, many of these associations are directly linked to the Party of Authenticity and Modernity, the political entity associated with the local governance of Merinien. There are claims that evidence, including photographs and videos, exists showing these members participating in political events and electoral gatherings connected to the same party.
Civil society representatives have voiced strong concerns regarding the appropriateness of a parliamentary figure overseeing a social initiative funded by a district council led by a family member. They suggest that this arrangement opens the door for interpretations linking the initiative to early electoral strategies, especially with upcoming legislative elections on the horizon. They argue that a more democratic approach would have involved engaging all components of the district council and extending invitations to representatives from all political parties in the northern Fes constituency, rather than limiting the initiative to a single political faction.
In light of these developments, local activists have called upon the Wali of the Fes-Meknes region, Khalid Ait Taleb, to intervene promptly to address what they describe as the misuse of public resources for narrow party agendas.
