King Mohammed VI Welcomes New Members to the Constitutional Court

Royal Audience Marks Appointment of New Constitutional Court Members

On June 4, 2026, a significant event unfolded at the Royal Palace in Rabat as His Majesty King Mohammed VI held an audience to officially welcome the newly appointed members of the Constitutional Court. This event aligns with the constitutional provisions that govern the composition and functioning of this esteemed judicial body, particularly the stipulations concerning the renewal of one-third of its members. During this ceremony, King Mohammed VI appointed Mr. Mohamed Amine Benabdellah as the president of the Constitutional Court, alongside Mr. Saad Rhzioual Berrada, both of whom were designated by the King himself. Additionally, the assembly included Mr. Ahmadou El Baz, a member elected by the Chamber of Representatives, and Mr. Abdelhafid Adminou, elected by the Chamber of Councillors.

In a solemn moment, the new members took their oaths before the King, signifying their commitment to uphold the principles of justice and the rule of law in Morocco. This appointment not only reflects the ongoing efforts to strengthen the judiciary but also emphasizes the critical role of the Constitutional Court in safeguarding the constitution and ensuring the integrity of the legal system in the country.
