Strengthening Economic Ties Between Italy and Morocco
On October 12, 2026, the Italian organization for employers and professionals, CNA Toscana Centro, along with the Moroccan Chamber of Commerce in Italy, formalized a protocol agreement in Prato, located in central-western Italy. This pivotal agreement aims to intensify exchanges between the two countries and expand opportunities for Italian businesses to access African markets, with Morocco positioned as a key gateway to various regions across the continent.
The primary objective of this agreement is to enhance and develop commercial and institutional exchanges between Italy and Morocco, thereby facilitating the growth of Italian enterprises and broadening their activities. This initiative particularly focuses on companies operating within the regions of Prato and Pistoia, which are part of the Italian employers' organization that represents artisans, contractors, and SMEs in Italy.
Through the signing of this agreement, both parties aspire to establish a sustainable cooperation framework, facilitate investments and bilateral partnerships, organize trade and institutional missions, as well as participate in sector-specific exhibitions and events.
On this occasion, Marwan Mansoub, the President of the Moroccan Chamber of Commerce in Italy, emphasized that the Chamber will leverage its extensive network and expertise to provide specialized services to Italian businesses. This includes detailed insights into the characteristics of local enterprises and precise guidance regarding potential partners, alongside dedicated support for developing commercial activities in the Moroccan market.
The agreement further stipulates the organization of ongoing bilateral business meetings between companies and between businesses and governmental bodies, aimed at identifying commercial and industrial partners, as well as supporting the establishment of joint projects and fostering sustainable collaboration between Italian and Moroccan businesses.
Emiliano Melani, the President of the Italian organization of employers and professionals, described the signing of this agreement as a "significant step forward" for his organization, recognizing Morocco's increasingly prominent role as a logistical, commercial, and production hub connecting Europe and Africa, and its emergence as a market of considerable interest for small and medium enterprises.
He concluded that this innovative agreement provides our businesses with practical tools to embark on international expansion and develop new commercial opportunities in the dynamic and strategically important Moroccan market, which serves as a gateway to the African continent.
