Leadership Transition at the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Sports in Morocco

The recent transition ceremony for the Department of Sports took place in Rabat, Morocco, marking a significant moment in the leadership of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Sports. This event saw Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, taking over the responsibilities from Mr. Mohamed Saad Berrada, the former Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports. This change in leadership is expected to enhance the collaborative efforts across various governmental departments.

During the ceremony, Minister Bensaid emphasized the importance of coordinated actions among different ministries, highlighting the need for sustained cooperation between the sectors of youth, education, and sports. He expressed his commitment to building on the achievements of the previous government mandate, ensuring that the collaborative spirit continues to flourish. A particular focus was placed on promoting school sports, which Bensaid identified as crucial for developing a robust sports system in Morocco.

Furthermore, Bensaid called for the recognition and enhancement of the efforts made in the fields of national education, preschool education, and sports, as well as in areas related to children and youth welfare. The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Salah-Eddine Abkari, who was appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Sports, responsible for youth affairs, along with several senior officials from the ministry.
