146 Moroccans Return to Morocco from Ceuta Following Police Operation

In a recent police operation conducted in Ceuta, Morocco, authorities have reported that **146 Moroccans have voluntarily returned** to their home country. This operation took place during the early hours at various locations throughout Ceuta, particularly in the areas of **Príncipe and Cuesta Parisiana**. A substantial force of **320 agents** was deployed to identify undocumented immigrants in the city, focusing on high-tension areas such as the former Legionary Settlement in Príncipe, where a significant number of immigrants were present. Many were discovered hiding in a community garage.

In total, **295 individuals were intercepted**, with 146 opting to return to Morocco voluntarily. Among these figures, it is noted that **60 are minors and 4 are women**, as per the official data provided.

The **Delegation of the Government** has expressed its commitment to continue searching neighborhood by neighborhood until all hidden immigrants are located. This statement was highlighted in a recent press release from the central administration.

Operational Insights and Humanitarian Efforts

Angel Víctor Torres, the head of the operation, characterized the initiative as a "**discreet and careful operation**" aimed at the 200 individuals residing in the Príncipe neighborhood who are now emerging from homes and garages as the operation concludes. He also defended the actions taken in the autonomous city, revealing that since August 3, a total of **244,000 meals have been distributed** to those in need.

Torres addressed criticisms regarding the distribution of food to immigrants, questioning, "What human rights are they defending?" In addition, he provided an update indicating that **13,101 individuals have returned to Morocco since August 10**. He noted that out of nearly **8,000 accommodation places available** in the facilities opened in the city, approximately 6,000 are currently occupied.

Regarding the identification of individuals, authorities have completed over **5,400 assessments** for adults and **310 for minors** in Ceuta. Furthermore, a total of **3,434 minors have been registered** and are receiving care within the regional protection system. Of these minors, **114 are currently placed with families in mainland Spain**, while another **181 have been referred to autonomous communities** in accordance with Article 35 of the Immigration Law.

Additionally, **65 cases have been submitted to Morocco for family reunification**, although Torres noted that these have not yet been resolved. He emphasized that this operation is supported by over **5,000 personnel** on the ground, including more than **1,600 National Police agents**.
