Enormous Support for Pilgrims During Ramadan
The Grand Mosque in Mecca has become a focal point of generosity and community spirit during the holy month of Ramadan, as it witnesses a remarkable increase in the number of meals distributed for Iftar. Daily, approximately 800,000 meals are provided to worshippers and visitors, reflecting the growing number of pilgrims arriving to partake in the blessings of the holy month, especially as the last ten days approach.
Organized Efforts to Ensure Smooth Distribution
According to an official overseeing the Iftar meal distribution, the setup begins just minutes before the Maghrib prayer, ensuring that everything is ready for those who are fasting. After the Iftar, the tables are swiftly cleared to prepare the area for the evening prayers. This organized effort is managed by the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, alongside dedicated field teams and volunteers. Their continuous work aims to facilitate the flow of movement within the mosque while serving the guests of Allah, particularly as expectations rise for an even greater influx of pilgrims during the final days of Ramadan.
