Security Authorities Address False Child Abduction Claims
The Security Directorate of Agadir has officially refuted claims circulating through various information systems regarding an alleged attempt to abduct a child in one of the city's neighborhoods. The authorities confirmed that they had not received any formal complaints or reports concerning this supposed incident.
In a statement released on Monday, the Security Directorate noted its awareness of a post attributed to an unknown source claiming that an individual’s child had been targeted for abduction by five individuals in a utility vehicle. This post urged citizens to exercise caution against such potential crimes.
The Security Directorate emphasized that no complaints or alerts had been reported by anyone claiming that their child faced an attempted kidnapping. Additionally, no notifications had been received through the command and coordination center or the digital platform "Iblagh" regarding this matter.
Despite the absence of any complaints, the Security Directorate took these allegations seriously, treating them as reports of possible criminal acts. Consequently, they initiated extensive investigations to verify the information presented in the circulating claims. However, the investigations yielded no evidence or indications of any incident resembling the described events.
In light of this situation, the Security Directorate has announced the initiation of a judicial inquiry under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office. The objective is to identify the party responsible for disseminating the misinformation and uncover the motives behind its publication, despite the lack of any formal complaints or similar incidents reported to the security services.
