In a significant development regarding the case that has shaken the city of Marrakech, the local police judicial service, in coordination with their counterparts in Settat and supported by precise intelligence data from the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, successfully apprehended the main suspect involved in the murder of an individual from a Sub-Saharan African country on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
Preliminary investigation data indicate that the victim, also a national from a Sub-Saharan African nation, engaged in a dispute with the suspect at a construction site in Marrakech for reasons that remain under investigation. This disagreement rapidly escalated into a physical altercation, during which the suspect delivered a fatal blow to the victim, resulting in the latter's death on the spot.
Intensive research and investigations conducted by security services enabled the identification and tracking of the suspect's movements, leading to his arrest in Settat through a coordinated police operation between the forces of both cities.
The detained individual has been placed under police custody by order of the competent prosecutor's office as part of the judicial inquiry aimed at uncovering all circumstances and details surrounding the incident and identifying all alleged criminal acts before being presented to justice for the appropriate legal actions to be taken.
