Atacadao Morocco's Strategic Move to Source Food Products from Brazil

Atacadao Morocco, a prominent distribution chain, is setting its sights on directly sourcing a variety of food products from Brazil, including coffee, rice, biscuits, and confectionery. This initiative is part of the company's strategy to establish long-term partnerships with Brazilian producers, thereby enhancing its supply chain efficiency and product quality.

Recently, Hamza Badri, the commercial and purchasing director of Atacadao Morocco, undertook a visit to Brazil from August 24 to August 28, where he engaged with potential suppliers. This trip was organized under the auspices of Halal do Brasil, a project led by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce aimed at promoting Brazilian halal products on an international scale. The event saw participation from six Arab companies alongside over 30 Brazilian firms in the agro-food and beverage sectors, facilitating meaningful discussions and potential collaborations.

During his discussions with the Arab-Brazilian News Agency (ANBA), Badri expressed Atacadao’s desire to procure products directly from Brazilian farmers and suppliers. This approach is intended to circumvent European intermediaries, which often inflate prices and complicate logistics. By sourcing directly, Atacadao can benefit from competitive pricing and superior product quality while also ensuring that the products meet the specific format and size requirements of the Moroccan market.

Having established its presence in Morocco since 2012, Atacadao currently operates more than 20 stores across the country. Its Moroccan operations are managed by the LabelVie distribution group, which has been instrumental in the brand's growth and development in the region.
