Strengthening Ties: Vietnam and Morocco's Diplomatic Milestone
On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations established between Vietnam and Morocco, which dates back to March 27, 1961, high-ranking officials from Vietnam have sent congratulatory messages to their Moroccan counterparts. President Luong Cuong conveyed his warmest wishes to King Mohammed VI, while Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed similar sentiments to his counterpart, Aziz Akhannouch. Additionally, Tran Thanh Man, the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, sent messages to both Mohamed Ould Errachid, the head of the House of Councillors, and Rachid Talbi El Alami, the President of the House of Representatives. On the same day, Le Hoai Trung, Vietnam's Minister of Foreign Affairs, also extended his congratulations to Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
Over the past 65 years, the friendship between Vietnam and Morocco has been continually strengthened, resulting in comprehensive developments across various sectors. In a recent interview with the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), Tran Le Dung, head of Vietnam's Commercial Office in Rabat, highlighted the immense potential and valuable experiences that Morocco can offer to enhance bilateral exchanges. She also pointed out the opportunities and challenges that Vietnamese companies may encounter in the North African market. This marks a significant moment for both nations as they celebrate their enduring partnership.
Furthermore, reports indicate that more and more French retirees are choosing Da Nang, located on Vietnam's central coast, as their ideal destination, even surpassing Portugal and Morocco in popularity. This trend is attributed to Da Nang's affordable cost of living and tranquil seaside environment, making it an attractive option for those seeking a peaceful retirement. Additionally, Vietnam continues to promote sustainable supply chains and reinforces its strategic role as a destination for investment, innovation, and global technological development.
With ongoing discussions about cooperation in defense and security between China and Vietnam, and recent high-level visits that have further solidified ties with Russia, Vietnam is actively working to enhance its international relationships. The Vietnamese government is also focusing on strengthening its cooperation with Cambodia in managing religious and ethnic affairs under a new bilateral agreement for 2026-2030.
As the diplomatic landscape evolves, Vietnam remains committed to fostering international cooperation and enhancing its role on the global stage.
