Inaugural National Quran Memorization Competition Concludes in Casablanca
On Saturday, March 14, the vibrant city of Casablanca hosted the closing ceremony of the inaugural National Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition, specifically organized for the children and orphans of national security personnel. This significant event was orchestrated by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works of National Security Employees in collaboration with the Casablanca Security Prefecture.
The final competitions witnessed a remarkable turnout, featuring 142 participants, out of which 34 children advanced to the final stage, showcasing an array of promising talents in Quran memorization and recitation.
In the memorization category, Fatima Zahra Al-Yami from Casablanca secured the first place, followed closely by Ayman Harwan from Marrakech in second place, and Idris Hanati Idrissi from Fez clinching third. Meanwhile, in the recitation category, Hasna Bourmia from Meknes captured the spotlight by achieving the top rank, with Safaa Al-Zain from Marrakech in second, and Abdullah Al-Yami from Casablanca rounding out the top three.
During the event, Mohammed Mashmachi, the Secretary-General of the Mohammed VI Foundation, emphasized that this initiative is in line with the directives of the Director General of National Security and the Territorial Surveillance, aimed at enhancing educational services directed at the children of the members. He further explained that the competition seeks to instill noble religious values among the youth of the national security family, encouraging them to forge a strong connection with the Quran through memorization and recitation.
Mashmachi also highlighted the pivotal role played by local scientific councils and the regional services of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in ensuring the success of this educational endeavor.
Furthermore, Mohammed Al-Karawi, a member of the judging committee and a member of the scientific council of the Nouaceur province, praised the initiative for revealing the talents of promising young individuals, commending the efforts made to hone the skills of the participating children.
The event concluded with the recognition of all 34 participants, distributing motivational awards to the winners as a token of appreciation for their excellence and encouragement to continue their journey in the memorization and recitation of the Quran.
This prominent event was attended by high-profile figures, including the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Mohamed Amhaydia, the Governor of Anfa, Abdelkhalek Marzouki, the President of the Regional Council, Abdel Latif Mouzouz, and the Casablanca Security Chief, Abdullah Al-Wardi, alongside the families of the participating children who shared moments of celebration and pride with their children.
