In a significant development for Morocco's telecommunications landscape, Comba Telecom, a renowned provider of wireless communication solutions, has joined forces with SICOTEL Communications (SCOMM), a leading Moroccan telecom and ICT solutions integrator. The two companies have formalized their collaboration through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that focuses on enhancing indoor wireless coverage. This strategic partnership was officially announced during the GITEX Africa 2026 tech and startup show, currently taking place in Marrakech, and aims to address the increasing demand for reliable and seamless indoor wireless connectivity across various commercial, industrial, and public spaces throughout Morocco.
As Morocco embarks on an ambitious nationwide rollout of 5G technology, with government targets set at achieving over 25% coverage by the end of 2026, this partnership is poised to play a pivotal role in providing the necessary infrastructure to support such an initiative. Comba Telecom will contribute its innovative ComFlex MAX solution to the collaboration—a highly adaptable and scalable system designed to deliver superior indoor network performance across all building types. This solution boasts advanced capabilities and is complemented by Comba's expertise in both passive and active distributed antenna systems (DAS).
On the other hand, SCOMM brings to the table its extensive knowledge of the local market, adept deployment capabilities, and strong customer relationships, serving a wide array of Moroccan service providers and major enterprises. The MoU outlines a collaborative effort to identify and pursue new opportunities for in-building solutions projects throughout Morocco, implement Comba’s passive and active DAS solutions including ComFlex MAX, and engage in joint marketing initiatives aimed at promoting integrated indoor wireless solutions to local operators and enterprises.
Notably, the ComFlex MAX solution has been successfully deployed in over 80 countries and regions globally. It features an IT-like architecture with highly integrated remote units that not only enhance overall performance but also significantly reduce power consumption, aligning perfectly with international sustainability objectives as well as Morocco’s green infrastructure initiatives. The partnership will particularly focus on venues that demand high-density connectivity, such as shopping malls, office buildings, hotels, airports, and stadiums, ensuring that these spaces are equipped with reliable and efficient wireless communication solutions.
