Moroccan Court Confirms Sentence for Bouz Flow
On Thursday, June 18, 2026, the Appeals Chamber of the Court of First Instance in Fes upheld the initial ruling against the artist Jawad Asrdi, popularly known in the artistic community as "Bouz Flow." This decision confirms all aspects of the original verdict issued by the primary court.
Previously, the Criminal Chamber at the Primary Court in Sefrou had sentenced Asrdi to a three-month suspended prison term, along with a financial penalty amounting to 2,000 dirhams. In addition, the court ordered the return of his personal computer, which had been subject to seizure as part of the investigation process.
The legal proceedings stemmed from charges filed by the public prosecution against Asrdi, which included accusations of "insulting an organized body and insulting public officials through speech, intended to undermine their dignity and the respect due to their authority." These charges were prompted by the content and dissemination of several of his songs.
It is noteworthy that Bouz Flow had previously been released from the local prison in Sefrou upon completing his initial trial period, during which he requested the application of the law in his final statement before the court.
