Exploring Amazigh Heritage in Granada
Granada continues to strengthen its position as a cultural bridge between Europe and North Africa with the upcoming roundtable dedicated to Amazigh culture. Scheduled for March 24, 2026, this engaging event will take place at the Inmaculada Ramos Auditorium of the Euro-Arab Foundation, starting at 6:00 PM. Entry is free, but attendees are encouraged to arrive early as seating is limited. This roundtable is organized in collaboration with the International Chair of Amazigh Culture at the Euro-Arab Foundation and the Summer University of Agadir, highlighting the significance of Amazigh heritage in contemporary society.
A Gathering of Distinguished Speakers
The roundtable will feature a remarkable lineup of experts from various fields, including Rachid El Hahi, an esteemed professor of Aesthetics, Arts, and Contemporary Criticism at the International University of Marrakech; Malika Boutaleb, a doctor in anthropology specializing in Amazigh studies; renowned writer and translator Mohamed Akounad, a pivotal figure in Amazigh literature; and Mohamed Blilid, a specialist in public law and political science from Ibn Zohr University in Agadir. Their diverse perspectives will provide valuable insights into the intricacies of Amazigh culture, including language, art, literature, and customary law.
In addition to the roundtable, the program will also include a course titled “Traditional Art and Amazigh Culture” on March 23, designed for those interested in deepening their understanding of the subject. Furthermore, a workshop focused on storytelling and Amazigh writing will be offered to educational centers, fostering a vibrant exchange of knowledge and creativity across the Mediterranean basin.
