The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Morocco, Saulekul Sailaukyzy, recently participated in a significant meeting that brought together ambassadors from Asia-Pacific nations and Mehdi Tazi, the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM). This gathering took place at the CGEM headquarters in Casablanca, where discussions focused on enhancing economic and trade relations between Kazakhstan and Morocco.
Joining the ambassador were diplomatic heads from various countries, including Azerbaijan, Australia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines, all of whom are accredited to the Kingdom of Morocco. As the dean of the group of ambassadors from the Asia-Pacific region, Ms. Sailaukyzy emphasized the substantial potential for commercial and economic relations between Asian nations and Morocco. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, trade between Kazakhstan and Morocco has surged by an impressive 68% since the opening of the Kazakh embassy in Rabat in 2021, surpassing $460 million by the end of last year. This remarkable growth underscores the strengthening ties between the two nations.

A significant delegation of Kazakh businesses is expected to attend this event, aimed at fostering direct links between the economic players of both countries.
On his part, Mehdi Tazi presented the diplomats with insights into Morocco's socio-economic development trends, stressing the resilience of the Moroccan economy and its strategic position at the crossroads of Africa, Europe, and the Arab world. The CGEM president also pointed out the effectiveness of bilateral business councils in transforming political dialogue into tangible economic projects.
