King Mohammed VI Honors Laylat Al Qadr at Royal Palace
In a momentous observance of one of the most sacred nights in the Islamic calendar, King Mohammed VI led a spiritual vigil at the Royal Palace in Rabat on the revered Laylat Al Qadr. Accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and Prince Moulay Ahmed, the King participated in solemn prayers following the Al Isha and Taraweeh prayers. The ceremony was marked by the formal closure of the Sahih Al Boukhari, officiated by Idriss Ben Daouia, the President of the Local Council of Ulema of Larache, alongside the recitation of Hadith Al Khatm performed by Mustapha Zamehna, the President of the Regional Council of Ulema of Beni Mellal-Khénifra.
As a testament to his commitment to nurturing religious education and honoring the Quranic tradition, King Mohammed VI awarded ten-year-old Zaid El Bakkali from Sale for his exceptional memorization of the Holy Qur’an, a gesture that underscores the King's dedication to supporting young Quran reciters. The ceremony further recognized distinguished scholars and institutions in the realm of Islamic scholarship. Ahmed Talha of Fez was awarded the Mohammed VI Prize Ahl Al-Qur’an, while Adnane Zhar of El Jadida received the Ahl Al Hadith Prize.
Additionally, the Mohammed VI Prize for Quranic Schools was awarded in three categories to Abdellatif Jalal of El Youssoufia for Methodology, Marzouk Ait Amran of Chefchaouen for Performance, and Abdellatif Ibouha of Chichaoua for Management. The Mohammed VI Prize for Adhan and Tahlil honored Abderrahmane Benbakka of Marrakech for his Excellence and Mohamed Battout of Mohammedia with an Honorary accolade.
The attendees, which included senior government officials, parliamentary leaders, Royal Advisors, members of the diplomatic community from Islamic nations, high-ranking military personnel, and other notable figures, collectively offered prayers for the well-being of the King and the success of his initiatives aimed at fostering the progress of Morocco.
