Fes Court Postpones Ruling in Player Agent Fraud Case
The Ordinary Criminal Chamber at the Court of First Instance in Fes was compelled to postpone the ruling on a case involving a well-known player agent who is currently free on bail. This decision came after a complaint was filed with the relevant public prosecutor by former Raja Casablanca player Abdel Fattah Boukhreis, who accused the agent of forging his signature on a document that confirms his withdrawal from pursuing the club before the Disputes Committee.
The postponement was necessitated by the incomplete handwriting expertise ordered by the court to investigate the authenticity of the signature attributed to the accused agent. This signature is at the heart of the charges against him, which include forgery of a private document and its use, as well as fraud, based on Boukhreis's complaint to the public prosecutor.
While waiting for the handwriting expertise to be completed, the court decided to delay the case, which has been ongoing since October 13 of last year, pushing the hearing to September 9 of the upcoming year. The expertise is expected to be conducted by an appointed expert, with the costs amounting to 1500 dirhams, which will be covered by Boukhreis or his defense team through the court's fund.
The court has appointed expert Mohamed Aziz Al-Wazani from Meknes to carry out this handwriting analysis, which aims to verify the authenticity of the signature on the disputed agency contract against Boukhreis's civil rights claim. The expert is tasked with summoning the involved parties and their representatives legally, reviewing the agency document, and taking samples of Boukhreis's handwriting in both numbers and letters. This will involve comparing his handwriting on official documents, including his signature on the agency contract and his signatures on the signature correction registry.
