Major Drug Bust in Marrakech: Over 17,500 Pills Seized and Four Arrested

In a significant crackdown on drug-related activities, the judicial police of the Marrakech Security Directorate, in coordination with the General Directorate for National Territorial Surveillance, successfully seized a staggering 17,586 psychoactive pills on Monday. This operation led to the arrest of four individuals aged between 20 and 40, who are suspected of involvement in the possession and trafficking of narcotics and controlled substances.

According to a security source, this operation was conducted in various neighborhoods across Marrakech, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects caught red-handed with drugs in their possession. The subsequent search and seizure operation uncovered the extensive stockpile of 17,586 medical narcotic pills of various types. Additionally, two light vehicles were confiscated, which are believed to have been used to facilitate this criminal activity.

The same source noted that a background check on the suspects via the national security database revealed that one of them is subject to multiple national search warrants, linked to similar cases of drug trafficking and the distribution of psychoactive substances.

Furthermore, the suspects have been subjected to judicial investigation, overseen by the competent public prosecutor's office, to identify any further connections related to this criminal network, as well as to apprehend any additional accomplices and participants involved in these illicit activities.
