Marrakech Menara Airport Receives Prestigious Award
Marrakech Menara Airport has recently been awarded the title of Best Regional Airport in Africa during the 2026 World Airport Awards ceremony held by Skytrax in London on March 18, as part of the “PTE World” event. This recognition is a significant milestone, reflecting the international acknowledgment of the qualitative growth experienced by Moroccan airports. The award underscores the success of the "Airports 2030" strategy initiated by the National Airports Office, aimed at enhancing passenger experience and improving operational infrastructure.
This award marks the first of its kind for Marrakech Menara Airport, demonstrating the increasing satisfaction among travelers regarding the quality of services and the efficiency of the procedures offered. These insights were gathered from an international survey conducted by Skytrax, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the National Airports Office and various national ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, the Ministry of Interior, the General Directorate of National Security, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Customs Administration, and local authorities in Marrakech.
The National Airports Office emphasized that the "Airports 2030" strategy is centered around improving the passenger experience, enhancing operational performance, and modernizing infrastructure, positioning Marrakech Menara Airport as a key gateway and a strong competitor among the best airports in Africa. The airport is also gaining increasing praise from international travelers, who appreciate the quality of reception, ease of navigation within the airport, and the effectiveness of operational services.
It is worth noting that the World Airport Awards, launched in 1999, are among the most prestigious awards in the airport industry globally. Winners are determined based on the largest international survey of passenger satisfaction, which included over 565 airports and participants from more than 100 nationalities, conducted from August 2025 to early February 2026.
