Moroccan Star Bilal Nadir Joins Hamburg in Free Transfer Move

Bilal Nadir Moves to Hamburg from Marseille

In a significant development within the football transfer market, Moroccan midfielder Bilal Nadir has officially signed with Hamburger SV, making the move from French club Olympique de Marseille on a free transfer. This acquisition marks Hamburg's second summer signing, following the earlier addition of forward Bafodé Daka. The club announced Nadir's signing through their official account, emphasizing that the skilled midfielder has entered into a long-term contract with the team.

Hamburg's official website confirmed that Nadir successfully passed his medical examination before joining the team's training camp in Austria. During this session, he signed his contract in the presence of club officials, and he will don the number 4 jersey for the upcoming season. Nadir expressed his excitement about joining Hamburg, stating, "I am very happy to become a player for Hamburg and cannot wait to meet the club's fans and play for this city."

Flexible Midfielder with a Bright Future

Kathleen Krüger, a member of the Hamburg sports board, highlighted Nadir's versatility, noting that he can perform various roles in the midfield. This adaptability adds significant depth to the squad, aligning well with Hamburg's tactical approach and values. Sporting director Claus Costa praised Nadir's technical abilities, emphasizing his quality and height of 1.86 meters, which will undoubtedly contribute to the team's performance.

Originally born in Nice, France, on November 28, 2003, Bilal Nadir developed his skills within the Nice academy before transferring to Marseille in the summer of 2021. After rising through the ranks to the first team in 2023, he made 53 official appearances for Marseille, scoring two goals and providing five assists. Additionally, Nadir participated in four matches in the UEFA Champions League and two in the UEFA Europa League.

On the international scene, Nadir received his first call-up to the Moroccan national team in March 2025. Although he has not yet made his senior debut, he has previously represented Morocco's U23 team and various youth selections in France.
