The National Action Group for Palestine has expressed its "deep anger" over the recent events at Bab Doukkala in Marrakech, where a controversial prayer was held by Haredi Jews. In an official statement received by Hespress, the group highlighted that several Zionist Jews gathered at the site and began performing rituals reminiscent of those observed at the Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall, in the Moroccan Quarter, which was demolished by the Israeli occupation army in 1967.
The statement described the actions as "provocative behavior that has crossed all red lines," firmly condemning this "deliberate impudence" from Zionists who have repeatedly dared to challenge Moroccan sacred sites, not only at Al-Aqsa Mosque but also within the nation itself, openly defying the sentiments of Moroccans. The source further criticized the authorities' silence regarding this behavior, which it classified as a breach of national sovereignty.
The group emphasized that normalizing relations with what it termed a criminal entity poses a real threat to the security of Moroccans. It asserted that national duty compels officials to promptly put an end to this trajectory and terminate all forms of relations with the Zionist enemy. Furthermore, they argued that the incident in Marrakech sets a dangerous precedent, necessitating accountability for those who enabled such actions designed to provoke Moroccans and test their reactions, particularly within the context of the Zionists' insidious projects and plans in the country.
In its statement, the group warned that the actions of the occupying entity and its groups at Bab Doukkala, along with previous incidents in areas like Beni Nsar and Gharb, demonstrate a blatant assertion of claims over what they refer to as Greater Israel, which includes not just historical Palestine but also parts of Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and sections of Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The group denounced the continual obstruction of Muslims performing prayers and Christians practicing their rituals during the holy month, asserting that these actions confirm the entity's status as a pariah and emphasize the need for Arab leaders to take responsibility to sever any ties with a regime associated with genocide and ethnic cleansing.
In light of these developments, the group reiterated the importance of protecting the dignity of Moroccan citizens and their right to worship freely. It called for vigilance against any attempts to undermine Morocco's sovereignty and emphasized that the practice of freedom of religion should be respected on all fronts. The group also noted the hypocrisy in the treatment of Jewish prayers in public spaces, pointing out that many Muslims face restrictions in Western countries while Jewish citizens practice their faith without hindrance.
Ultimately, the National Action Group for Palestine urged for a collective awakening to the potential dangers of normalization and the encroachment of foreign entities within Moroccan territories. They called for unity among Moroccans to uphold national sovereignty and ensure that such provocative acts are met with appropriate responses to safeguard their rights and religious sentiments.
