Palestinian Startups Shine at GITEX Africa 2023 in Marrakech

Six innovative Palestinian startups are set to showcase their groundbreaking ideas at the fourth edition of GITEX Africa, taking place in Marrakech starting next Tuesday. This initiative is supported by the Jerusalem Development Agency, which operates under the auspices of the Committee of Jerusalem, led by King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

This marks the agency's third consecutive year participating in the event, with financial contributions from the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform of the Kingdom of Morocco. The agency will feature a dedicated institutional booth and a specific section for the "BMAQ Innovation Hub," a project incubator focused on innovation and renewal.

The selection of the participating Palestinian companies was made based on precise criteria developed in collaboration with a specialized team from Al-Quds University. This year's showcased companies span various sectors, including "Burhan," a platform utilizing artificial intelligence for psychological assessments to guide career paths, and "App Grow," which digitizes nursery services to enhance communication between educators and parents.

Also participating is "HowAISees," a platform that employs artificial intelligence to improve e-commerce and marketing experiences, alongside "Labebo," which offers innovative solutions for remote therapy and rehabilitation for children through interactive 3D technologies.

Additionally, the booth will include "QREDIT," which provides digital payment services for small and medium-sized enterprises, and "Hives 360," an IoT-based system aimed at developing beekeeping and enhancing productivity through smart monitoring and data analysis.

Throughout the exhibition, which runs until April 9, 2026, the agency's booth will host a series of professional activities, including presentations by the participating companies and one-on-one meetings with Moroccan and international stakeholders to explore partnership opportunities and market expansion.

On this occasion, the agency emphasized that this participation represents a "qualitative opportunity to enhance the role of Palestinian companies in supporting economic and social development, particularly in Jerusalem, aligning with their digital strategy goals for the period 2024-2027."

Furthermore, the agency stated that this initiative reflects its commitment to economically empowering Palestinian youth and opening new horizons for them in innovation and entrepreneurship by providing international platforms for showcasing their projects and building strategic partnerships.

It is noteworthy that the Jerusalem Development Agency launched its strategy for digitalization, innovation, and renewal in 2024 under the slogan: "Digital Development in the Service of Economic and Social Development in Jerusalem." This strategy focuses on five key pillars, including the "House of Morocco in Jerusalem" platform to document the city's human heritage, an incubator for startups in innovation and renewal, the "Dalaala" e-commerce and solidarity platform, a comprehensive distance education system, and the "Haya" applications aimed at children and young adults to raise awareness about the virtues of Jerusalem.

To date, 34 Palestinian startups have benefited from the agency's incubator programs for innovation and renewal projects, with some successfully reaching acceleration stages and partnerships, while others have managed to enter various markets.
