Podemos Urges Sánchez to Condemn Moroccan Aggression Against Sahrawis

Podemos Calls for Strong Action Against Moroccan Government

Isa Serra, the MEP from Podemos, has made a passionate appeal to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, urging him to denounce the recent attack by Morocco on members of the Polisario Front and to sever diplomatic ties with Rabat immediately. In a fervent statement shared on social media, Serra expressed her outrage, stating, "This is very serious. The Moroccan dictatorship is killing Sahrawis to continue its occupation." This declaration comes in the wake of a tragic incident in which at least three members of the Polisario Front, including Lehbib Mohamed Abdelaziz—a key figure in the National Secretariat of the group and son of the late Sahrawi President Mohamed Abdelaziz—were killed in a strike launched by Morocco near the separation wall in Western Sahara.

Serra further condemned Morocco's actions, asserting that the nation has learned from its ally Israel and feels emboldened in its impunity, paralleling it with the terrorism perpetrated by Israel. She insisted that Pedro Sánchez must not only condemn these actions but also take decisive steps to terminate relations with Morocco once and for all. Additionally, Enrique Santiago, a deputy from Sumar and parliamentary spokesperson for IU, echoed Serra's sentiments, denouncing the drone attack as an act of "murder" against members of the Polisario Front, highlighting that such tactics are reminiscent of those typically employed by Israel. Santiago remarked, "Morocco is utilizing the genocidal tactics against the Palestinian people in its war against the Sahrawi liberation movement," affirming the connection between these geopolitical conflicts and the need for a unified response against them.
