Police Crack Down on Prostitution in Marrakech
On the evening of July 6, 2026, officers from the urban police department of Marrakech's first security district successfully apprehended six women suspected of operating a prostitution ring from an apartment in the city. This operation was initiated following the identification of suspicious advertisements posted on a popular website known for attracting clients seeking sexual services. After tracing the ads back to their source, law enforcement was able to pinpoint the location of the apartment being used for these illicit activities, situated in the vibrant neighborhood of Gueliz.
The police raid resulted in the arrest of five women, aged between their twenties and thirties, along with a woman believed to be the ringleader, who was allegedly responsible for attracting clients and facilitating the operation. During the search of the premises, authorities seized a significant quantity of medical condoms as well as a small amount of hashish, further implicating the suspects in illegal activities.
The arrested individuals are currently being held under police custody as mandated by the public prosecutor's office. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the operation and to identify any potential connections or networks related to this prostitution activity. The police's decisive action underscores their commitment to maintaining public order and addressing issues that contradict moral standards in society.
