Police Operation in Marrakech Leads to Arrests for Suspected Illegal Activities

On Wednesday evening, the judicial police of the Gueliz district in Marrakech initiated a significant security operation targeting a residential building located in the Najd neighborhood. This action was part of an investigation into suspicions surrounding the use of certain apartments for illegal activities.

According to a security source, the operation resulted in the apprehension of several individuals found inside the mentioned apartments under circumstances that suggest ties to corruption-related issues. A total of 13 people, including both young men and women, were detained during a coordinated security intervention that covered multiple apartments.

Furthermore, field investigations led to the arrest of an additional individual who was en route to one of the targeted apartments. Initial data indicated that this person had been in communication via an online platform believed to be used for arranging suspicious meetings.

The detainees were subsequently taken to the relevant security departments for further investigation to uncover all details and circumstances surrounding the case. This process is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, which has ordered the suspects to be held in custody while judicial proceedings are finalized.

This operation is part of ongoing security campaigns being conducted by law enforcement in Marrakech aimed at combating various forms of crime and addressing all types of illegal exploitation of apartments and residences intended for accommodation.
