The selection process for the Stadium of the Year award involved public participation, allowing fans and sports enthusiasts to cast their votes for their favorite venues. Voters ranked their top five stadiums, attributing five points to their first choice and one point to their fifth. This year, the voting concluded on March 9, 2026, with each device allowed a single vote to ensure fairness. The Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium emerged victorious with an impressive score of 14,481 points, surpassing notable competitors such as the Grand Stadium of Tangier, which earned 10,453 points, and Moulay Hassan Stadium, which secured fifth place with 8,092 points. Other Moroccan contenders included Al Madina Stadium and the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, finishing seventh and ninth, respectively.
The competition also included several other African stadiums, highlighting the growing significance of sports infrastructure across the continent. Notably, Libya's Benghazi Stadium ranked 15th, while Uganda's Hoima City Stadium, which is set to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2027, placed 18th.
