The association has criticized the practices of forced relocation, expropriation, and the demolition of informal housing areas, all under the guise of urban restructuring benefiting real estate and tourism capital. This is particularly apparent in cities involved in World Cup projects, where terms like "public interest" and "urban rehabilitation" are utilized as cover for exclusionary policies that infringe upon the rights to housing and land. Consequently, thousands of families are being displaced without their consent or adequate compensation for their losses.
Furthermore, the offensive against harmful economic and spatial reforms affecting the population is not limited to housing. The state's assault extends into fundamental areas tied to Moroccan universities and education, exacerbating the plight of citizens who already face a myriad of challenges. The combination of economic hardship and governmental suppression threatens to leave citizens without any means to voice their grievances or seek redress, compounding the urgency for action in a nation at a critical crossroads.
