Russia's Strategic Participation in GITEX Africa 2026
The Russian Export Center has announced the organization of a comprehensive collective pavilion under the banner "Made in Russia" at the upcoming GITEX Africa 2026 exhibition, set to be held from April 7 to 9 in Marrakech. This initiative reflects Moscow's commitment to enhancing its technological presence in African markets and establishing digital partnerships aimed at achieving technological sovereignty. The pavilion is expected to be one of the exhibition's key highlights, as GITEX Africa serves as a principal platform for companies, governments, and investors seeking digital solutions that can keep pace with the rapid transformations in the global economy. Additionally, it is viewed as a strategic gateway to the rapidly growing markets of the Global South.
Emphasis on "Made in Russia" Initiative
The "Made in Russia" label represents a national program initiated by the Russian government to promote Russian products and services globally, with a specific focus on supporting non-energy exports and enhancing the competitiveness of companies in international markets by 2030. The Russian Export Center (REC) oversees the implementation of this program, which includes comprehensive support for companies, such as international promotion, organizing national pavilions at exhibitions, facilitating access to foreign markets, and providing integrated consulting and financial services. The objective of this initiative is to create a unified image of Russian products and foster international trust through selection mechanisms that ensure the quality of participating companies and their readiness for global expansion, alongside adherence to technological security standards and data protection.
According to the organizers, the "Made in Russia" program goes beyond mere marketing; it represents a comprehensive platform for supporting Russian exporters through the organization of international exhibitions and trade missions, launching digital stores on global platforms, developing distribution channels abroad, and providing technical and financial assistance to companies. This program has enabled thousands of Russian companies to enter international markets and secure significant export contracts, making it a central tool in Russia's foreign economic strategy.
At GITEX Africa 2026, the Russian pavilion is anticipated to feature participation from over 20 technology firms from various innovation centers across Russia, showcasing advanced solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity, data protection, financial technologies, advanced communications, the Internet of Things, drones, and robotics. The Russian presence at GITEX Africa will particularly focus on presenting integrated digital systems that form the foundation for building independent technological infrastructures for African partners.
Alexey Andreev, the trade representative of Russia in Morocco, stated that Russian companies can offer a wide range of solutions, from operating systems and communication equipment to smart infrastructure and secure collaboration software, emphasizing the goal of ensuring technological sovereignty and accelerating economic development. Notable participating companies include SpetsPromDesign, specializing in smart security systems, and Telcor, which provides core network solutions for telecommunications, crucial for building modern, scalable digital infrastructures. This participation follows the successful outcomes of the Russian pavilion during GITEX Africa 2025, where over 400 targeted business meetings were organized with regional stakeholders, including prominent professional associations such as APEBI and AUSIM, reflecting the growing demand for Russian technological innovation in Africa.
