Severe Weather Alert Issued for Multiple Regions
The National Meteorological Directorate (DMN) has issued a warning regarding the potential for locally severe thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong wind gusts with dust storms, set to affect numerous provinces across the Kingdom on Tuesday and Wednesday. These thunderstorms are expected to bring rainfall amounts ranging from 30 to 40 millimeters, particularly between Tuesday at 1:00 PM and Wednesday at 8:00 AM, impacting areas such as M'diq-Fnideq, Tanger-Assilah, Ouezzane, Al Hoceima, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, Chechaouen, Tétouan, Moulay Yacoub, Sefrou, Taounat, Fès, Meknès, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Sidi Slimane, Khémisset, Sidi Kacem, Béni Mellal, Azilal, Khénifra, and Al Haouz.
In addition to the heavy rainfall, the DMN has also alerted residents to expect strong wind gusts reaching between 80 and 100 km/h, forecasted for Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the provinces of Boulemane, Azilal, Ouarzazate, Midelt, and Tinghir. This combination of severe weather conditions necessitates caution and preparedness among residents and travelers in the affected areas.
