Essaouira-Mogador International Airport has reported a remarkable increase of 11.97% in passenger numbers as of the end of April 2026, compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Airports Office. The office’s periodic statistics on commercial air transport for April 2026 indicate that the airport welcomed a total of 97,881 passengers during the first four months of the current year, up from 87,420 in the corresponding period of the previous year.
In April alone, the number of travelers passing through Essaouira-Mogador Airport reached 32,065, marking an impressive increase of 25.29% from the 25,593 passengers recorded in April 2025. The data highlights that international flights dominated passenger traffic at this airport infrastructure, with a total of 97,641 travelers, reflecting a 14.41% increase, while domestic flights saw a stark decline, accommodating only 240,000 passengers, which is down by 88.43%.
Regarding aircraft movements, the airport experienced a growth of 16.31%, achieving a total of 756 air movements by the end of April 2026, compared to 650 flights during the same period last year. On a national scale, commercial air transport across Moroccan airports recorded 12,336,962 passengers by the end of April 2026, which is a 9.7% increase compared to the same timeframe in the previous year.
