The Essaouira-Mogador International Airport has experienced a remarkable increase of 11.97% in passenger numbers at the end of April compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Airports Office. The office reported in its periodic statistics regarding commercial air traffic for April 2026 that the airport welcomed a total of 97,881 travelers during the first four months of the current year, as opposed to 87,420 during the same timeframe in the previous year. In just April, the number of passengers who passed through Essaouira-Mogador Airport reached 32,065, marking a significant increase of 25.29% compared to 25,593 passengers in April 2025.
Data regarding the distribution of passenger air traffic at this airport facility highlight the dominance of international flights, totaling 97,641 travelers, which signifies a growth of 14.41%. In contrast, domestic flights saw a substantial decline, accommodating only 240,000 travelers, which reflects a drop of 88.43%. Furthermore, in terms of aircraft movements, the airport recorded a rise of 16.31%, with a total of 756 air movements by the end of April 2026, compared to 650 flights during the same period last year.
On a national level, commercial air traffic across the kingdom’s airports reached 12,336,962 passengers by the end of April 2026, representing an increase of 9.7% compared to the same period the previous year.
