Urgent Action Taken Against Restaurant Following Food Poisoning Complaint

On Thursday, authorities from the 11th district successfully apprehended the owner of a restaurant located in the Harati complex in the Menara district. This swift action followed an urgent field intervention by a mixed commission, which was triggered by a complaint from a citizen who reported suffering from food poisoning after dining at the establishment.

According to sources from the newspaper, the security services received a complaint from the victim detailing their experience of food poisoning due to consuming fast food at the restaurant. This prompted the immediate arrival of a mixed commission, comprising a physician from the National Office for Food Safety, local health office representatives, and local authorities, including the district chief from the administrative district of Hay Hassani, along with officers from the 11th district.

The raid resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of both red and white meats that were of unknown origin, as the restaurant operator failed to provide invoices and documents proving the source of various food products. These items were subsequently destroyed as a precautionary measure, aimed at protecting consumer health.

Such incidents raise serious concerns about food safety standards, emphasizing the need for stringent penalties against violators. It is crucial for restaurant operators to adhere to cleanliness regulations to ensure the safety of consumers. Continuous monitoring is essential to prevent any manipulation of food quality, and consumers must be protected from potential health risks.
