XPENG Launches Premium Electric SUVs in Morocco with First Showroom in Casablanca

XPENG's Innovative Entry into the Moroccan Market

XPENG, the renowned Chinese premium automotive brand, has made a significant mark in Morocco by inaugurating its first showroom in Casablanca. This strategic move is complemented by the unveiling of two cutting-edge electric SUVs, the G6 and G9, which embody the company's vision of integrating artificial intelligence into the driving experience. XPENG is not just about cars; it represents a unique positioning in the automotive sector, where technology, connectivity, and innovation redefine mobility. The introduction of the G6 and G9 is set to revolutionize the way Moroccans perceive electric vehicles, highlighting a future where AI plays a pivotal role.

A Closer Look at the XPENG G6 and G9 SUVs

The XPENG G6 stands out with its sleek and dynamic design, offering a contemporary aesthetic that appeals to modern consumers. With a fastback silhouette characterized by fluid lines and a full LED light strip at the front and back, the G6 not only looks impressive but is also optimized for aerodynamics due to the absence of a traditional grille. Spanning 4.75 meters in length, the G6 provides a spacious interior and an impressive trunk capacity of 571 liters, expandable to over 1,300 liters. Inside, the G6 fosters a minimalist and sophisticated ambiance, featuring a high-resolution 14.96-inch touchscreen that controls all functions, eliminating the need for physical buttons. The vehicle is designed for a digital experience, equipped with a digital cockpit, advanced voice commands, and over-the-air updates.

Comfort is paramount in the G6, with Nappa leather seats that are heated, ventilated, and equipped with a massage function, a panoramic sunroof, and enhanced acoustic insulation. Performance-wise, the G6 boasts an impressive range of 580 km on the WLTP cycle, with power reaching up to 350 kW. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds and achieves a top speed of 200 km/h, thanks to its next-generation 800V electric platform. Notably, the G6's charging capabilities allow it to recharge from 10% to 80% in merely 20 minutes, supporting fast DC charging up to 280 kW.

On the other hand, the XPENG G9 is positioned as a high-end family SUV that combines luxury with advanced driving assistance technologies. Larger and more opulent than the G6, the G9 competes with established models like the BMW iX and the Mercedes EQE SUV, all while maintaining a competitive price point. Measuring 4.9 meters in length, the G9 is spacious enough for families and aims to be a preferred choice for long-distance travel, crucial for the Moroccan market. Its impressive range of 570 to 585 km (WLTP) makes it ideal for extended journeys, and it features rapid charging capabilities, going from 10% to 80% in approximately 12 to 20 minutes.

The G9's interior is a testament to luxury, boasting dual central screens, a 14.96-inch passenger display, a digital cockpit with OTA updates, and intelligent voice controls. The comfort features include Nappa leather seats with massage, heating, and ventilation options, along with electrically adjustable rear seats. Additionally, both the G6 and G9 are equipped with XPENG's X-PILOT system, a semi-autonomous driving solution that enhances the driving experience with advanced assistance features. A dedicated mobile app allows users to control and monitor their vehicles remotely, ensuring continuous updates and improvements through OTA technology, in addition to V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capability for powering external electric devices.

The launch of XPENG's first showroom in Casablanca represents a crucial milestone in the brand's growth within Morocco, with plans to gradually expand its network across the kingdom, including future locations in Rabat and Bouskoura, as well as promotional events in other cities. The pricing for the G6 starts at 417,800 MAD, while the G9 is available for 662,000 MAD, both inclusive of a complimentary charging station. Furthermore, the vehicles come with a manufacturer warranty of 7 years or 160,000 km.
