Bratislava Airport Expands Winter Flight Schedule for 2026/2027

Bratislava Airport Enhances Its Winter Flight Offerings

Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is set to significantly expand its winter flight offerings for the 2026/2027 season, as announced by the airport management in October 2026. The winter flight schedule, which will be in effect from October 25, 2026, to March 27, 2027, will feature a total of 53 regular flight connections, surpassing last year's record by four routes. This expanded network will connect the Slovak capital with 43 destinations across 27 countries, marking a notable increase in connectivity and international reach.

Among the new additions are direct flights to Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with Wizz Air launching a new route to Baku and also initiating service to Sarajevo. Additionally, the flight schedule will include new connections to popular tourist destinations such as Agadir in Morocco and Hurghada in Egypt. The operational presence at the airport will also grow, with Wizz Air and Ryanair increasing their stationed aircraft to a total of eight at the beginning of the season.

Expansion of Routes and Competitive Landscape

This winter, the introduction of six new routes will stand out in the flight offerings. Notably, for the first time, passengers will have direct access to Azerbaijan, courtesy of Wizz Air's new connection to Baku. The airline will also provide direct services to the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo, further enhancing the connectivity options available from Bratislava. Ryanair, another major player, is set to launch new routes to Agadir and Turin, thus establishing a competitive market for flights to Morocco, with both airlines serving the route.

In total, the airport will connect with 26 international markets, including destinations such as Albania, Armenia, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Morocco, Norway, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. Domestic services will be maintained through a busy route between Bratislava and Košice, ensuring that travelers have convenient options for both international and regional travel.

For the upcoming season, four airlines will operate from Bratislava: Wizz Air, Ryanair, Pegasus Airlines, and Air Cairo, with Wizz Air leading the way by offering 27 flight routes closely followed by Ryanair with 24. Pegasus Airlines continues to provide essential connections to Istanbul, while Air Cairo operates flights to Hurghada. There will be direct competition between Wizz Air and Ryanair on 12 European and North African destinations, creating a dynamic environment for travelers choosing between these low-cost carriers.

The winter flight schedule will also see a shift towards intercontinental destinations within the charter program, with the introduction of direct flights to Mombasa, Kenya, starting in February 2027. Other exciting additions include the return of charter flights to Dakar, Senegal, along with services to Zanzibar in Tanzania and popular Egyptian resorts along the Red Sea. Notably, Tui Airways will begin operations at Bratislava Airport, offering charter flights to La Romana in the Dominican Republic and Phu Quoc in Vietnam, with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner featuring business class accommodations.

The expansion of operations at Bratislava Airport is further supported by an increase in aircraft stationed on-site. Ryanair will add a fourth Boeing 737-800 to its base, while Wizz Air will operate four Airbus A321neo aircraft at the airport. This growth allows both airlines to efficiently manage their schedules, enhancing their ability to conduct frequent flights and optimize terminal usage during the busy morning hours.
