Chelsea and Manchester City Pursue Ajax Wonderkid Abdellah Ouazane
In a thrilling development for football fans in Morocco and beyond, Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly keen on acquiring the remarkable talent of Ajax's Abdellah Ouazane. The 17-year-old Moroccan international has been making waves in the Eredivisie, showcasing his impressive skills and playmaking abilities on the field, which has captured the attention of several European football giants including Real Madrid and Juventus, who are also vying for his signature in upcoming transfer windows.
Ouazane has emerged as one of Ajax's brightest prospects, earning consistent placements within the senior squad due to his undeniable talent. His versatility allows him to play both as a left winger and an attacking midfielder, making him an invaluable asset for any club looking to bolster their offensive lineup. This season, he has proven to be a dynamic force, adept at carrying the ball forward, creating goal-scoring opportunities, and influencing matches from advanced positions, attributes that Chelsea and Manchester City find particularly appealing.
Ajax Faces Tough Decision on Future of Ouazane
Despite the growing interest from elite clubs, Ajax faces a challenging decision regarding Abdellah Ouazane's future. The Dutch club is eager to retain the young talent and is reportedly in talks to extend his contract, which is currently set to expire in 2028. However, negotiations have hit a snag as Ouazane's representatives are demanding annual wages ranging from €4 million to €5 million, a request that could complicate matters for Ajax's sporting director, Jordi Cruyff, who is hesitant to disrupt the club's existing salary structure.
With Ouazane's 18th birthday approaching in January, this pivotal moment could significantly influence his career trajectory. As Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Juventus continue to monitor the situation closely, the outcome of contract negotiations may determine whether Ouazane remains at Ajax or embarks on a new adventure with one of Europe’s prestigious clubs. If Ajax fails to extend his contract, Ouazane could quickly become one of the most coveted young talents in European football.
