Direct Flights from Tel Aviv to Marrakech Postponed Until December

The launch of direct flights connecting Tel Aviv to Marrakech, which were originally set to commence on November 16, has now been postponed until at least mid-December. This delay comes as the Israeli airline "El Al" has decided to defer the operation of this route through its subsidiary, "Sundor," pending the completion of the necessary licenses and security arrangements.

This update follows an announcement made by "Al Marrakchia" on September 16, where it was reported that the airline had planned to operate two weekly flights between Tel Aviv and Marrakech on Mondays and Wednesdays, with round-trip fares starting at approximately $599. The inaugural flight was anticipated to take off on November 16.

Additionally, "Al Marrakchia" highlighted certain security restrictions imposed by Israeli authorities that have affected airlines intending to service the red city. These restrictions include the suspension of flights by "Arkia" and the freezing of ticket sales by "Israir," alongside El Al's postponement of its new route launch.

According to various Israeli media reports, flights scheduled through "Sundor" have now been delayed until December 15, 2026, without a confirmed date for resumption thereafter. This decision further pushes back the anticipated addition of two weekly flights to the transportation network between Tel Aviv and Marrakech, at a time when airlines are looking to reschedule their operations towards Morocco.
