Marrakech Hosts 24th International Dental Congress: A Leap Forward in Oral Healthcare

The 24th edition of the International and African Dental Congress concluded on Sunday, October 25, in Marrakech, Morocco. This significant event, organized by the Moroccan Association for Oral Health Prevention (AMPBD), brought together specialists from 25 countries to discuss the latest scientific and technological advancements in dental care. The congress focused on crucial issues surrounding the modernization of medical practices, training, and scientific cooperation.

Under the theme "Modern Dentistry in Service of the Patient," this year’s congress took place at the Palais des Congrès of the Mogador Agdal Hotel, under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. It gathered dentists, researchers, educators, and professionals from the dental field to explore developments in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies.

Highlighting Scientific Innovations and Young Researchers

A significant part of the discussions revolved around the digital transformation of dentistry. Attendees delved into how new technologies can enhance diagnostic accuracy, therapeutic practices, and patient management, paving the way for a more efficient dental healthcare system.

The congress featured a comprehensive program that included 21 conferences, 16 practical workshops, and over 280 scientific papers presented in oral communications and poster formats. This robust agenda was crafted by a scientific committee comprising university faculty members, enabling participants to gain insights into the recent advancements in dental science and share their practical applications.

Special attention was devoted to young researchers, who were invited to present their findings and engage in discussions with established Moroccan and international specialists. Additionally, a professional exhibition held alongside the congress showcased various dental equipment and technologies, further enriching the experience for attendees.

Fostering International Scientific Collaboration

This edition of the congress honored the United Arab Emirates as the guest country, featuring the participation of the UAE International Dental Congress and the AEEDC Dubai Dental Exhibition. The Emirati delegation included Professor Abdulsalam AlMadani, president of AEEDC Dubai, the Global Scientific Dental Alliance, and INDEX Holding, highlighting the commitment to fostering international ties in dental science.

Representatives from scientific associations in France, Italy, and Portugal also took part in the discussions, resulting in several partnerships being established between practitioners and institutions aimed at strengthening professional and scientific exchanges. Nawal Rabi, president of AMPBD, emphasized that this event continues the association's three-decade-long efforts in promoting oral health prevention, training, and expertise sharing.

She particularly highlighted the significance of collaboration among professionals and the involvement of young researchers in advancing medical practices.
