Marrakech Hosts Successful 24th International African Dental Medicine Congress

The 24th edition of the International and African Dental Medicine Congress concluded on Sunday, October 25th, in the vibrant city of Marrakech, Morocco. This prestigious event, organized by the Moroccan Association for Oral Health Prevention (AMPBD), brought together dental professionals, researchers, and experts from 25 countries, all gathered to discuss the latest advancements in the field of dentistry. Under the theme "Modern Dental Medicine at the Service of the Patient," the congress took place at the Palais des Congrès in the Mogador Agdal Hotel, with support from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

The scientific program was packed with 21 conferences and 16 practical workshops, showcasing more than 280 scientific works. These contributions were shared in both oral presentations and poster formats, allowing researchers, especially younger ones, to present their findings and engage in discussions with both Moroccan and international specialists.

Focus on New Technologies in Dentistry

Key discussions during the congress revolved around advancements in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of oral diseases. Participants explored the impact of digitization and new medical technologies on the dental profession. An accompanying exhibition offered professionals and students a chance to discover the latest equipment and technologies available in the market. Additionally, several partnerships between professionals and various institutions were established during the event.

The United Arab Emirates was the guest of honor at this edition, represented by the UAE International Dental Congress and the Arab Dental Exhibition AEEDC Dubai. Notable attendees included Professor Abdulsalam AlMadani, an ambassador for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean for the Gulf Cooperation Council region, who is also the president of AEEDC Dubai and the Global Scientific Dental Alliance (GSDA), along with a delegation from the congress and the exhibition. Representatives from scientific associations in France, Italy, and Portugal were also present, highlighting the event's international significance.

Nawal Rabi, the president of AMPBD, emphasized that this congress is part of the ongoing efforts made by the association for over thirty years to promote prevention, scientific training, and experience sharing. She underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation among professionals and enabling young researchers to showcase their work. Through this gathering, AMPBD aims to continue its initiatives for prevention and oral health, aligning with efforts to enhance scientific research, encourage innovation, and strengthen skills within the health sector in Morocco.
