Marrakech Police Under Investigation for Alleged Sexual Assault
The Judicial Police Service in Marrakech has initiated a formal investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor. This action was taken on the evening of Monday, September 28, to thoroughly investigate the criminal acts attributed to a police officer holding the rank of sergeant, who is suspected of being involved in a case of sexual assault.
According to a security source reported by assafir24.ma, the identity of the implicated police officer has been confirmed, and he has been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation following a complaint filed by a woman. She alleged that she was sexually assaulted by an individual claiming to be a police officer while she was in the company of someone else.
The same source added that, in accordance with the requirements of the judicial investigation overseen by the public prosecutor, the detained police officer is currently being held in custody. This measure aims to facilitate a deeper investigation into the circumstances, details, and motives behind the commission of these alleged criminal acts.
In parallel with the judicial process, and in accordance with the provisions of the specific regulatory framework for national security employees, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance has issued a temporary suspension from duty for the accused officer. This decision is pending the outcome of the ongoing judicial investigation, which will determine the administrative sanctions to be applied according to the law.
