On the evening of September 21, 2026, Morocco's national football team commenced its training at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé, gearing up for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The team is set to face Gabon and Lesotho in their first two matches of the qualification rounds, alongside a friendly against Ghana.

According to a statement from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation published on its official website, the players engaged in their first training session under the guidance of head coach Mohamed Wahbi. This initial session was focused on regaining physical fitness and beginning the implementation of the training program devised by the technical staff in preparation for the forthcoming matches.

All summoned players participated in this training, with the exception of Ismail Sabiri and Achraf Hakimi, who are expected to join the squad on Wednesday, September 22.

The national team will continue its preparations in the coming days at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, following the training regimen laid out by the technical staff, to ensure they are fully ready ahead of their opening match.

Morocco will kick off its qualification campaign against Gabon on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 7 PM at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. Following this, they will face Lesotho on Tuesday, September 29, in South Africa, as part of the qualifiers for AFCON 2027.
