Partnership Agreement Signed to Promote Information Accessibility in Morocco
On Monday, October 26, 2026, a significant partnership agreement was formalized in Rabat between Morocco's Post Group and the National Information Access Committee. This agreement marks the Post Group's official entry into the National Information Access Portal, a move aimed at bolstering the principles of transparency and openness in public administration.
The agreement was signed by Amine Ibn Jloun Tohimi, the Director General of Morocco's Post Group, and Omar Saghrouchni, the President of the National Information Access Committee. This collaboration is designed to facilitate the exercise of the right to access information, thereby enhancing the relationship between the public and institutions.
According to the terms of the agreement, the National Information Access Portal will serve as a digital mechanism that allows Morocco's Post Group to streamline the process of accessing information and modernize the management of requests. This is an essential step in adapting to the digital transformation era and leveraging technology to better serve citizens.
In his remarks during the signing ceremony, Tohimi emphasized that the agreement reflects a shared commitment based on the firm belief that transparency is not an obstacle but a fundamental driver of trust between institutions and the public. He noted that joining this portal will enable citizens to submit their information requests and related complaints remotely, as well as track the progress of their requests.
Furthermore, Tohimi highlighted that, apart from its practical benefits, this partnership provides a unique framework for cooperation, exchange, and support, especially through training and awareness initiatives. These efforts aim to foster a sustainable culture of transparency and enhance practices that promote effective access to information within the Post Group.
On his part, Saghrouchni affirmed that the right to access information is a cornerstone for building a state governed by law, serving as an effective safeguard against misinformation and deception. He reminded attendees that the portal, managed by the committee, is a digital platform that allows both citizens and legally residing foreigners in Morocco to submit and track their information requests and related complaints, in accordance with Law No. 31.13 concerning the right to access information.
Saghrouchni also pointed out that the platform provides participating institutions with indicators that assist in assessing the performance of the request processing system, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the right to information and improving service quality.
This agreement symbolizes the commitment of both parties to actively implement the right to access information and facilitate its exercise by applicants, thereby supporting the establishment of a modern and efficient administration that places citizens at the heart of its concerns.
