Water Supply Disruptions Expected in Casablanca: Key Details and Areas Affected

Water Supply Interruptions in Greater Casablanca

The residents of Greater Casablanca, particularly in the municipality of Lahraouiyine, should brace themselves for potential interruptions in their drinking water supply from this Tuesday evening until Wednesday noon. According to the Casablanca-Settat Multiservice Regional Company, the maintenance work is set to commence at 6 PM and is expected to continue until noon the following day.

This temporary disruption is linked to essential rerouting of the drinking water network, part of a larger initiative to clear the necessary space for the future high-speed train line. This operation will necessitate temporary interventions on existing infrastructure, impacting water distribution in various areas.

During this period, some neighborhoods in Lahraouiyine may experience a complete halt in water supply, while others will likely face reduced pressure, resulting in intermittent availability depending on the specific locality.

The affected areas include, but are not limited to, **Al Firdaous, Al Hamd, Bassatine Al Bayda, Diyar Lahraouiyine, Jawharat Médiouna, the Al Limoun development, Ryad Sidi Hajjaj, the industrial zone of Lahraouiyine, the douars located to the south of the municipality, and the Annasr sector**. Additionally, a decrease in water pressure is anticipated in the central area of Médiouna. In Moulay Rachid, neighborhoods such as **Diyar Sidi Othmane and Al Fadl** are among those likely to be impacted by the ongoing works.

The severity of the disruptions may vary across different zones, ranging from minor reductions in flow to temporary outages. Residents can expect a gradual return to normal distribution after the completion of the maintenance work.

In light of these anticipated interruptions, the Casablanca-Settat Multiservice Regional Company strongly recommends that residents, businesses, and facilities in the affected areas prepare in advance by storing an adequate supply of water to meet essential needs.

Normal water distribution is expected to resume on Wednesday at noon, contingent upon the progress of the ongoing works on the network.
