Royal Air Maroc Expands Flight Services with New Nonstop Route from Casablanca to São Paulo

Royal Air Maroc Enhances Connectivity Between Morocco and Brazil

In a significant development for international travel, Moroccan airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced the launch of its fifth weekly nonstop flight between Casablanca, Morocco, and São Paulo, Brazil. This new service is set to commence this week, with the inaugural departure from Morocco scheduled for Wednesday, November 28, at 3:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the first flight from Brazil will take off on Thursday, November 29, at 12:25 a.m. This expansion represents a strategic effort by the airline to bolster its services on this critical route, especially following the resumption of operations in December 2024 after a hiatus due to the pandemic.

The new flight schedule from São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport includes departures on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while flights returning to Brazil from Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This comprehensive schedule aims to facilitate travel for both tourists and business travelers, enhancing the accessibility of Morocco for Brazilian nationals.

Football Icon Cafu to Grace the Inaugural Flight

In a notable highlight, Royal Air Maroc has partnered with former Brazilian football superstar Cafu, a two-time FIFA World Cup champion, who will be traveling with his wife, journalist Mariah Morais, on the inaugural flight from São Paulo to Casablanca. This choice aligns perfectly with Morocco's role as a co-host for the upcoming 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal. Othman Baba, RAM's regional director for South America, expressed the airline's excitement, stating, “Welcoming a football legend at this new stage brings us special joy. Cafu knows the excitement of a World Cup like few others and will be able to share his perspective in a country preparing to host the tournament.”

Baba further emphasized that this new flight service is not just about enhancing travel options but also about fostering cultural connections between Brazilians and Moroccans. The flight aims to showcase the best of Moroccan hospitality, offering travelers an authentic experience as they embark on their journeys. RAM’s network covers over 100 destinations, making it an ideal choice for those looking to explore Morocco or connect to other regions across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

The introduction of this additional frequency comes at a strategic time, coinciding with the European winter travel season, which is deemed crucial for Brazilian travel agents and tour operators. During their visit to Morocco, Cafu and his wife plan to explore key cities including Casablanca, Rabat, and Marrakech. Their itinerary promises a rich experience that includes visits to palatial structures, historic mosques, lush gardens, and vibrant medinas, providing an opportunity to immerse themselves in local culture, architecture, cuisine, and daily life. Royal Air Maroc has also announced plans to document this trip in a special three-part miniseries, featuring interviews and insights along the way.
