Strengthening Bilateral Ties: Morocco and Mexico's Parliamentary Cooperation

The Moroccan Ambassador to Mexico, Abdelfattah Lebbar, recently visited the Senate of the Republic, where he engaged in discussions with the President of the Board of Directors, Higinio Martínez Miranda. During this significant meeting, both parties underscored the importance of parliamentary cooperation, aiming to bolster political dialogue and explore new avenues for economic, commercial, and cultural collaboration between Morocco and Mexico.

In the course of their discussions, Senator Martínez Miranda highlighted that Mexico's foreign policy is built upon principles such as non-intervention and respect for each country's right to self-governance. He emphasized that the engagement with Morocco should encompass a deeper understanding of its institutions, parliament, and various governmental bodies, while also advocating for an expanded exchange between the two nations.

Martínez Miranda also pointed out the necessity of enhancing bilateral relations and strengthening the bonds of friendship between Mexico and Morocco through increased collaboration in sectors that promote the development of both countries. This sentiment was echoed by Ambassador Lebbar, who articulated the need for revitalizing parliamentary cooperation and extended an invitation to the Senate President for a working visit to Morocco. Such a proposal includes meetings aimed at deepening political dialogue, exchanging legislative experiences, and identifying new development opportunities.

The diplomat remarked that the relationship between Morocco and Mexico transcends official links, necessitating a stronger connection between institutions, businesses, universities, and their respective societies. He added that a joint work agenda would facilitate the establishment of concrete objectives and strengthen the mechanisms for bilateral collaboration.

In conclusion, Lebbar emphasized the historical and cultural ties shared by both nations, as well as their mutual interest in preserving their national identities while remaining open to international dialogue. The meeting aimed to lay the groundwork for enhancing relations between Mexico and Morocco and generating new pathways for cooperation.
