Weather Alert in Morocco: Heavy Rains and Heat Wave Expected

Severe Weather Conditions Forecasted Across Morocco

According to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), Morocco is bracing for extreme weather conditions this weekend, particularly from Friday to Sunday. The forecast indicates a significant heat wave, with temperatures soaring between 36°C and 40°C in several provinces including Taroudant, Oued Ed-Dahab, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Laâyoune, and Aousserd. This is accompanied by an orange alert level due to the potential dangers of such high temperatures.

In addition to the heat, the DGM has warned of thunderstorms that may produce heavy rainfall ranging from 20 to 30 mm. These storms are expected to occur on Friday between 1 PM and 11 PM in various regions including Al Haouz, Ifrane, Azilal, Rehamna, Boulemane, Marrakech, El Kelâa des Sraghna, Khénifra, Chichaoua, and Sefrou. Residents in these areas are advised to remain cautious as the storms may also bring risks of hail and strong winds.

It's crucial for individuals and communities to stay informed about these weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period of severe weather.
