Weather Forecast for Morocco: Rain and Rising Temperatures in Agadir and Beyond

Agadir – The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) in Morocco has issued a comprehensive weather forecast indicating the likelihood of rain in the High Atlas region, morning fog in various areas, and strong winds affecting the southern provinces today, as temperatures are expected to rise throughout much of the country.

According to the DGM, rain along with a risk of thunderstorms is anticipated in the High Atlas. Dense low clouds are expected to blanket the Southeast, the Mediterranean coast, and the northern inland plains during the morning hours, which could lead to fog or light drizzle in certain locations. In the Eastern region, low clouds will persist into the night, accompanied by potential fog or localized drizzle.

The forecast also highlights that moderate to strong gusts of wind will impact the southern provinces and coastal areas stretching from El Jadida to Essaouira, creating breezy conditions across these regions. In terms of temperatures, the minimums are projected to range from 2°C to 8°C in the Atlas Mountains, the Rif, and the eastern high plateaus, while the Sahara provinces will experience milder minimum temperatures between 19°C and 23°C. Other areas are forecasted to see lows of 12°C to 18°C.

While temperatures in the Sahara provinces are expected to drop significantly, the rest of the country will experience a noticeable increase in temperature. The sea conditions are predicted to remain relatively calm to slightly rough in the Mediterranean Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar, while the Atlantic coast may see slightly rough to rough seas.
